Today is a double doozy of both First Thursday and Cinco De Mayo. This means going out and enjoying the world is mandatory. I’ll be at The Art Institute of Portland’s Gallery for their opening night of the Dress Rehearsal exhibit. The garments are the first Act of their upcoming Fit 2 Print fashion show on June 4th, for which I am co-chair of. The theme of the pieces is about the relationship between graphic design and fashion design, with each item meant to say something. And part of what it says is "Thank you sponsors!" with gowns made out of upcycled materials from the businesses supporting the show. This includes us, so it you’re interested in seeing a wedding gown made entirely of Portland Monthly magazines, get on down to the opening reception tonight or pop by in the next two weeks. As for the fashion show itself, more on that later.
