A day of physical hazard endured in hopes of acquiring a plasma screen TV at a 70 percent discount. Sometimes simply called “Black Friday,” i.e., the day after Thanksgiving.

In a sentence: “After the predawn Black Eye Friday openings at Jantzen Beach, I needed ice, a massage, and therapy. But I scored an incredible deal at Burlington Coat Factory, so it was worth it!”
