Kanye West switched his branding allegiance from Nike to Adidas last year. Here are the best things the Chicago hip-hop artist has rapped or said about the Beaverton shoe giant.

ON CELEBRITY:

“If Nike ain’t have Drizzy [Drake], man, they wouldn’t have nothin’!”

ON OFFICE CULTURE:

“Nike, Nike treat employees just like slaves / Gave LeBron [James] a billi’ not to run away.”

ON CREATIVITY:

“They let me design two shoes over five years. But they didn’t do me no favors because Eminem ... designed the shoes.”

ON GETTING PAID:

“Nike told me, we can’t give you a royalty because you’re not a professional athlete. I told ’em ... I’m a performance athlete.”

ON PROFITS:

“I done talked a lot of shit but I just did the numbers / Herzog[enaurach] and Adidas, man, you know they love it.”

ON FEAR:

“I just want to talk to Portland right quick, everybody at the Nike office. I know the execs at Nike saying they ain’t scared of Kanye West. Should Nike be scared of Kanye West?”
