A Holiday Pop Up Shop
4–6 p.m. Wed, Dec 5, Hotel Vintage
A full holiday affair at the Hotel Vintage with wine tasting from Ponzi Vineyards, snacks from from Il Solito, and gift shopping from Molly Ray Fragrance, beloved boutique Project Object, and give-back nail polish Claws Out. (Full disclosure: Claws Out is my own company and, while we like it around here, Willamette Week just said nice things about us too.) Finally, the hotel's Bacchus Bar is lighting up their gorgeous tree at 5 p.m. and you get half-off cocktails if you bring an ornament. So get festive!
Sweater Weather
6–10 p.m. Thu, Dec 6, ADX Portland
Townshend's Distillery and ADX Portland team up for a night of drinking and shopping while also fundraising for charity. Shop from a variety of ADX vendors' handmade goods while sipping custom cocktails from four of Portland's top bartenders—Larissa Brockmeyer from Palomar, Leah George Brown from Angel Face, Natasha Mesa from Deadshot, and Halley Connelly from Elvis Room, If you can, the event is BYOM (bring your own mug).
Trove 1-Year Anniversary
6–9 p.m. Sat, Dec 8, Trove
Downtown's stunning new home store Trove celebrates its first birthday as a brick-and-mortar with vintage decanters, gorgeous wallpaper, and a beautiful apothecary. They'll have all the party elements: food, drinks, and a raffle of Trove-filled baskets benefitting nonprofit service organization Lions Club International. Roar.
World's Largest Blanket Fort Party
Noon–11:30 p.m. Sat, Dec 8, Convention Center, $15—39
Participate in history this weekend with a world record-breaking attempt to construct the biggest blanket fort ever. (The current Guinness World Record is 3,303.4 square feet, and a group in Texas built one at 5,727 square feet.) After the daytime fort building, there will be a dance party celebration at night. Blanket donations will go to Portland-area homeless shelters.
6–9 p.m. Thu, Dec 6, Jailbreak Studios
Jailbreak is a new studio in town centered on showcasing art and handmade products created by POC, queer, and female makers. Stop into the opening party to view the work in progress along with an open bar, snacks, live screenprinting by Levelheaded Press, shopping, a raffle, music, and Switchblade Vintage. Plus, catch a preview of a new 2019 gallery show.
Lulu and Friends Holiday Vintage Pop Up
10–4 p.m. Fri–Sat, Dec 7–8, Lulu's Vintage
Got vintage lovers on the list? Then make that task an easy one. Four of our city's top vintage companies come together for one stylish market with curated pieces from AlexSandra's Vintage Emporium, Living Threads Vintage, and Lorrel Mae Vintage all moving into Lulu's Vintage space for one weekend. Expect razzle dazzle.
Hey Holiday
10 a.m–6 p.m. Sat–Sun, Dec 8–9, Jacobsen Salt Co.
Another festive pop-up shop this weekend in collaboration with Jacobsen Salt Co and the Yo! Store. Shop a bunch of local brands, plus enjoy additional holiday cheer in the form of Rojo the Llama, Tight Tacos, Blokepdx and wreathmaking with Fieldwork Flowers.
Give Good Gift
11–4 p.m. Sat–Sun, Dec 8–9, Union/Pine
A staple of the Portland holiday shopping routine, Give Good Gift returns to Union Pine with 30 A+ local vendors like Altar, Barrow, North of West, and many, many more. Hungry shoppers, don't fret: food and drink will include Tamale Boy, Department of Sandwich, Ash Wood-Fired Pizza, the Wishing Well Bar, and Water Ave. Coffee Roasters. The event is also a canned food drive for Urban Gleaners, so if you've got a can to give, bring that along for extra holiday cheer.
Crafty Wonderland
11–6 p.m. Sat–Sun, Dec 8–9, Oregon Convention Center
Crafty Wonderland returns to fill a 60,000-square-foot hall at the Oregon Convention Center with 250 (yes, you read that right) vendors from the Northwest and beyond. The all-ages event includes goodie bags for the first 150 people through the door each day and free craft activities from NE Alberta shop Collage.
Eat Oregon Now
10–5 p.m. Sun, Dec 9, Leftbank Annex
Food is omnipresent at holiday events, so better bring the good stuff. Pop into the first edition of Eat Oregon Now, featuring 85-plus local vendors of food, drink, and accessories under the informal motto "More food, less stuff." There's some old favorites, some up-and-comers, and some barely opened businesses, including Portland Bloody Mary Mix, Culture Aromatics, and OlyKraut.
