Beer and Hiking...A Match Made in Heaven!

Image: Laborant
Beers Made by Walking combines beer, nature, walking, and charity. The idea: let brewers draw inspiration from Oregon nature.
At this summer's five planned hikes, beer-lovers will walk (for free!) with brewers from local breweries as they identify local flora to use in an upcoming beer. The resulting beers are unveiled in the fall at various locations, and proceeds from each pint serve a different charity.
This year, the Portland walks benefit Portland’s Forest Park Conservancy, which helps protect and enhance the park’s trails and delicate ecology. The walks are free, the nature is beautiful, and you can hang out with local beer brewers while they draw beer inspiration (beer-spiration?) from our lush valley. What could possibly be better?
