This just in: The boys from Simpatica and Viande Meats have opened the doors to their new East Side butcher shop and meat counter today. For fans of their former location in the City Market in Northwest Portland, expect more of the excellent sandwiches, terrines, patés, and seasonal charcuterie offerings that have landed partners Jason Owens, Benjamin Dyer, and Dave Kreifels firmly on Portland’s meat map.

Located at 3155 E Burnside St, Laurelhurst Market is another reason to be jealous of the Laurelhurst and Buckman neighborhoods. Already endowed with foodie meccas Navarre, Ken’s Artisan Pizza, Alma Chocolates, and the Robert Reynolds Chef Studio, Laurelhurst Market is the latest food-related amenity in a part of town that has a greater share than most.

Laurelhurst Market will serve dinner starting this weekend, according to its website. If the offerings at Simpatica Dining Hall are any indication, dinner won’t disappoint.
