After closing her two (much-loved) neighborhood cafes on SE Division and North Williams, Cheryl Wakerhauser has reopened in the middle at her new East Burnside patisserie-meets-tapas bar, Bar Vivant. The 3000-square foot space houses a new-and-improved Pix display cased stocked with macarons, chocolates, and desserts as well as a double-sided bar (stand up San Sebastian-inspired tapas tables or full sit-down table service) with $1-$5 nosh and $5 pours of Spanish wines. With savory bites, sweet treats, an extensive drink list, and an enviable amount of outdoor seating, Wakerhauser’s world has been turned upside down for the better.
