NE Russell: Tommy Habetz, Nick Wood, and Matt Brown, and Jimmy Albee will launch Trigger, their new eatery under the Wonder Ballroom, on Wednesday, October 24th. According to the Oregonian, the initial menu is set to feature queso, guaq, nachos, flautas, soft tacos, quesadillas, fajita plates, chocotacos, and Mexican wedding cookies. 128 NE Russell St

NE Fremont: Johanna Ware's lauded Beaumont eatery Smallwares has debuted a daily happy hour menu available between 4 and 6 pm. Offerings include a $2 fried six-minute egg with Chinese mustard, $3 chicken lollipops, $4 pork and kimchi pancakes, $6 pork belly sandwich, $4 sake and beer, and a $6 cocktail dubbed "The Happy" featuring gin, Campari, grapefruit, and soda. 4605 NE Fremont St

NW Marshall: The Bent Brick has launched a new happy hour chef's choice trio special every day from 5 to 6:30 pm. In addition to $5 glasses of wine, $3 beers, and $5 cocktails, the $25 chef's choice special will feature three modern small plates from chef Will Preisch. Denver: The Great American Beer Festival took place in Denver this week, and Oregon's top brewers took home a total of twenty four medals, including eight for the city of Portland alone. Our local medalists include The Commons, Burnside Brewing Co., Breakside Brewery, Laurelwood Brewing (x2), Harvester Brewing, Hopworks Urban Brewery, and Columbia River Brewing.
