SE Division: Rob Walls's "Portland-style" banh mi eatery Double Dragon will celebrate its first year of business with a free party on Thursday, November 29th from 6 to 9 pm featuring previews of the expanded menu that's set to debut in January (after the completion of their full bar and kitchen build-out). 1235 SE Division

SW Broadway: On the heels of the opening of Vitaly Paley's Imperial Restaurant, the James Beard Award-winning chef's next venture Portland Penny Diner is set to debut on November 30th. Paley and his right-hand man and executive Chef Ben Bettinger have re-imagined the diner for the Pacific Northwest, named after the coin that Frances Pettygrove and Asa Lovejoy used to decide Portland’s name in 1845. The counter-service diner will offer morning pastries, breakfast sandwiches, lunch sandwiches (on house made Fry Bread, Parker House rolls, or Grand Central breads) as well as salads, soups, sides, and old-school desserts from Pastry Chef Michelle Vernier. Bar Manager Brandon Wise will resurrect the historical soda fountain with housemade phosphate sodas, "lactarts", and cocktails like the Portland Egg Cream (with Fernet Branca, Imperial chocolate syrup, cream, and soda). The space will be open Monday through Thursday from 7 am to 7 pm; Fridays from 7 am to 1 am; and Saturdays from 7 pm to 1 am. 410 Southwest Broadway

SW Washington: Micah Camden's small-batch, from-scratch Blue Star Donuts is set to open Saturday, December 1st on the ground floor of the West End's twelve | west building. The long simmering project will offer a dozen varieties of brioche doughnuts from its 980-square-foot space complete with open kitchen, Stumptown coffee service, and floor-to-ceiling windows. SW Washington: The Downtown location of Rick Gencarelli's show-stopping, pig-powered sandwich spot Lardo is set to open on November 30th in the corner section of the space most recently home to the shuttered Corazón. 1205 SW Washington St

SW 10th: The second location of Wes Russell and Christine Herman-Russell's Case Study Coffee has debuted downtown (in the former Crafty Wonderland space), offering pastries from Bakeshop, Nuvrei, and Petunia's Pastries as well as bagels from Bowery Bagels.
