If you've earned your die-hard food geek badge, you've probably dreamt about skipping over the Atlantic to experience the dishes at Copenhagen's Noma—frequently ranked as the best restaurant in the world. Well, dream no more: for one evening in January, Noma is coming to Portland.

Noma's boundary-pushing pastry chef Rosio Sanchez will join Castagna's executive chef Justin Woodward for a special nine-course collaborative dinner on Saturday, January 19th at Portland's leading outpost of modernist cuisine.

These two chefs are long-time friends and culinary colleagues, and have crafted a meal together that reflects their shared restaurant experience—both wore chef whites in the kitchens of Noma and NYC's wd-50—and their mutual love of experimental cooking techniques, minimalism, and seasonality.

"We almost didn't have to talk about the menu," says Woodward. "Our food is so similar. We came from the same background, classically trained in French techniques, and moved on to learn modern cooking at WD-50 and Noma. I think this will be a seamless dinner."

Seating is limited, and price details are currently under wraps. For reservations or more information, call Castagna at (503) 231-7373.
