Beer Pairing Dinner with Breakside Brewery at Smallwares

What: Breakside Brewing unveils their latest collaborative beer series, the Smallwares Saison, at this 5-course dinner with inauthentic Asian all-star chef Johanna Ware. Guests will enjoy Breakside brews alongside dishes like grilled shrimp with aji amarillo, lychee, pink peppercorn, and chives and flank steak with apricots, mustard seed, red onion, and parsley.
When: Thursday, July 18 at 6 pm.

Riesling Invasion

What: Taste the rainbow of rieslings at this daytime soiree at Illahe Vineyards featuring various vintages from five different wineries including Love & Squalor, Mad Violets, Ovum, Teutonic Wine Company, and Illahe Vineyards. Food pairings from Sauvage and Xico will be available alongside “Riesling appropriate” vinyl from DJ Sanju.
When: Saturday, July 20 from 11 am to 5 pm.

How Much:
 $10 advance ticket when purchased before July 19 at noon or $12 at the door. Tickets can be purchased online via Teutonic Wines.

Seafood and Sake Luncheon with Slow Food Portland

What: The second installment of a three-part Slow Food Portland education series on fish consumption, consumerism, and advocacy. Join a diverse panel of seafood experts including Lyf Gildersleeve, owner of Flying Fish Co., and Jennifer Q. Norris, owner of Riffle NW, as they talk about the best ways to buy and support sustainable seafood.
When: Saturday, July 20 from 1 to 3 pm.
Where: Bamboo Sushi, 836 NW 23rd Ave,
How Much: $45 for Slow Food members ($50 for non-members) includes discussion and appetizers. Tickets can be reserved via Slow Food Portland online.

Field & Vine’s Oregon Farm Loop Kickoff Dinner

What: Allium chef Pascal Chureau takes his cooking straight to the source with Field & Vine Events’ season kickoff farm dinner at Iverson’s Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm. Following a farm tour, guests will enjoy six courses (think grilled Carlton Farms pork rack with corn succotash, Andouille sausage with cauliflower and olive oil cake with Fiala Farms strawberries, lavender syrup, and
crème Chantilly) at a meal that celebrates local food and wines.
When: Saturday, July 20 at 5:30 pm.
Where: Iverson’s Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm, 33814 S. Meridian Rd., Woodburn

Patricia Green Cellars Wine Pairing Dinner at Ración

What: Join one of the Willamette Valley’s premier Pinot producers for a four-course pairing dinner at West End hotspot, Ración. Chef Anthony Cafiero will match his molecular, Spanish-infused fare with four different pours from Patricia Green, who will be on hand to talk about her wines. Menu highlights include Butiffara sausage with salbitxada, green beans, and pickled mustard seeds and citrus cured salmon with buttermilk pudding, new potatoes, fava beans, and almond licorice.
When: Monday, July 22 at 7 pm.
Where: Ración, 1205 SW Washington St.

Commons Brewery & Friends at 1856

What: Break out your growlers! The fine fellas at The Commons Brewery are curating a special tap takeover at 1856 this Thursday. Confirmed beers include Block 15 Framboise White, Occidental Dubbel, Weihenstephaner Hoplosion, and a special Commons/DeGarde collaboration beer.
When: Thursday, July 18 at 5 pm.
Where: 1856, 1465 NE Prescott St.
How Much: Prices vary according to selection.

Rosé Tasting at Tabla

What: Sample 24 faraway rosés from Italy, France, and Spain at this casual, walk around tasting affair. Keep your glass full with one of the many wines from Columbia/Young’s Market and your stomachs happy with Italian-inspired hors d’oeuvres from Tabla. 
When: Tuesday, July 23 from 5 to 9 pm.
Where: Tabla, 200 NE 28th Ave.
