This debut cookbook from Portland’s own James Beard Award-winning chef Gabriel Rucker features 125 progressive-yet-playful recipes from his phenomenally popular East Burnside restaurant, Le Pigeon. The book brims with uncommon delicacies and envelope-pushing twists—Elk Tongue Stroganoff and Lamb Belly BLT, anyone?—and Le Pigeon’s Andrew and Lauren Fortgang contribute their expert wine recommendations and stellar dessert recipes, respectively.

Patrons of Portland’s Spanish-inspired Toro Bravo will cherish this book's 95 straight-from-the-restaurant recipes, from simple small plates to homemade chorizo. But like any good cookbook, “Toro Bravo” is more than a collection of recipes: it also explores the life story of Toro Bravo’s trailblazing chef John Gorham, recounting his grandfather’s crab-shack dance club, his influential trips to Spain, and his first forays into the restaurant business.

Chat about everything from school lunches to salt blocks with twenty of Oregon's favorite food experts at this cookbook signing. Authors will be eager to sell, sign, and discuss their cookbooks, and Chef Michael Stanton of the Heathman will provide light refreshments. This event open to the public for a suggested donation of $5. Participating writers include Le Pigeon's Gabe Rucker and Portland Monthly's own Karen Brooks, as well as a variety of national cookbook authors. Check out the full line-up here.
