Five years after opening at 2600 SE Division St and cementing Portland’s reputation as an artisan baking city, Little T's oven master Tim Healea is stretching across the river with a second bake shop.

The small space offers several simple sandwiches, a wide selection of pastries, Coava Coffee, T Project teas, and some of the best loaves in town, including Pan de agua, a rustic, Spanish-inspired loaf new to Healea’s outstanding bread repertoire.

Sandwich specials currently include fresh mozzarella with "semi-dried" tomatoes and basil on a baguette, a fennel and salami sandwich with fresh pecorino and olive salad, and sliced ham with organic cheddar on a buttered pretzel roll.

Daily pastry offerings—like walnut-citrus spice tea cake, apricot rosemary bars, brownies flecked with Jacobsen sea salt, and Little T's famous chocolate croissants—are sure to entice the downtown crowd.

The tiny space was designed by Portland-based Fieldwork Design, Little T's Division Street neighbor. The firm is also responsible for the high-design feel of the Tanner Goods store and New Relic's offices, profiled in our 2013 Best Places to Work feature

Little T's westside micro-cafe debuts this week in Union Way, the curated tunnel of shops and micro-eateries stretching from SW Stark to Burnside. With a small menu of simple, perfected sandwiches, Coava Coffee, T Project teas, an overflowing pastry case, and some of the best loaves in town, the two block radius that encompasses Powell's and the Ace Hotel is now primed to become a bread-lover's Mecca.
