Portobello Vegan Trattoria broke more than a few hearts when it ended its Sunday brunch service earlier this year—but those hearts may be on the mend with the recent announcement of Portobello's new Sunday Supper, a shared plate dinner with a different menu each week.
For $23 per person, Sunday-night diners are treated to a hearty three-course meal featuring seasonal, plant-based dishes. The courses are designed in classic trattoria style: the first course typically comprises salad, soup, and garlicy housemade foccacia, the second course features piles of pasta and vegetables, and the third boasts a delicious seasonal dessert. Portions are plentiful, and many an overeager eater has filled up on the tempting basket of warm bread before the main course is out of the kitchen. But don't worry—no matter how much you eat, you'll be sure to find more stomach space when dessert arrives.
Sunday Supper service runs from 5:30 to 9 pm weekly. Although the menu is often announced mere hours in advance on the restaurant's facebook page, reservations tend to fill up mid-week, so it's safest to sign up early with an open mind—recent dishes included brussels sprouts salad, celeriac ravioli, pumpkin cake and ice cream, and much more.
