Slide Show: A Tour of Accanto's New Lunch Menu
After some major kitchen shakeups following the closure of neighboring fine dining destination Genoa in May 2014, the dust has settled on the corner of Belmont and SE 29th. Accanto's new chef Sean Temple, former executive chef of wine country's Paulee and sous chef at Paley's Place, has remixed the menu of Genoa's once-casual counterpoint to highlight fresh Italian fare every day of the week. In addition to creative new specials, a weekday aperitivi hour with Italian small plates meant to be paired with wine, whole animal butchery, and upcoming additions to the brunch menu from new a.m. chef Claire Miller (opening chef of Dime Store), the restaurant is now offering lunch service five days a week. We popped in to take a look at the new lunch and aperitivo offerings—check out the slide show to see for yourself. Accanto may mean "next door" in Italian, but the bright and modern corner restaurant is now the big kid on the block.
