A Virtual Tour of Yoga Union's New Breathe Building
When most yoga businesses get too big for their longtime homes, they open a second studio or relocate to a chic warehouse in a trendy part of town. When the growth bug hit Yoga Union, owners Todd Vogt and Annie Adamson teamed up with longtime yoga student and teacher Chris Calarco to build a new community wellness center from the ground up just two blocks from the studio's first location—and held the new building to some pretty intense standards. The new Earth Advantage Silver Certified Breathe Building at 2305 SE 50th Ave (just north of SE Division) combines ambitious design and sustainability to house healthy cafe and juice bar Fern Kitchen, health and wellness center Prema Health, as well as Yoga Union's two new studios, childcare center, changing rooms (complete with dry cedar sauna), multiple murals painted by Yoga Union students, and retail offerings. Take a tour of the building—made with with non-toxic, sustainable, and regionally-sourced materials—via the slide show above, and head in for a yoga class or a hearty, healthy lunch soon.
