One glorious summer evening almost four decades ago, our beloved Trail Blazers finally put Portland on the national sports map when they dominated the Sixers to win the NBA Championship. And we never forgot. In fact, we’re still celebrating, this time at IDL Worldwide’s Ripsgiving on Thursday, November 17.
IDL Worldwide’s downtown Gallery 135 will be transformed into a tribute to the Blazers’ NBA title, offering fans the chance to relive the pulse-pounding drama of that 1977 game on huge monitors. Blazer-themed installations will abound, including a huge, three-dimensional Blazers logo, with sounds spun by DJ Blowy Shirts.
“We always love the chance to open up our gallery space to the community,” says IDL Worldwide’s Sonya Klinger. “Ripsgiving is a celebration of our city’s beloved team and an opportunity for Portland’s creatives and Blazers fans to come together and share a great experience over good food, drink, music, and people.”
Ripsgiving takes place at Gallery 135, 135 NW Park Ave, on November 17 from 6–9 p.m. Admission is free.
