It’s Time to Nominate Portland’s Best Nonprofits and Volunteers

Who are they? You tell us! Submit your nominations for Portland Monthly’s 2018 Light a Fire awards.

By Portland Monthly Staff May 29, 2018

All year round, Portland’s nonprofits work to make our city and country a better place to live and grow. Once a year, we get to honor them at our annual Light a Fire awards. We’re asking you to tell us about the nonprofits, volunteers, and charitable projects dedicated to improving our communities so we can celebrate them. Follow this link to submit a nomination now! (Deadline for nominations has been extended!).

The Light a Fire awards—now in their 14th year—have to date honored 193 organizations and individuals working on a range of issues, including health care, education, the environment, hunger, at-risk youth, and homelessness.

With more than 22,000 registered nonprofit organizations across the Portland metro area, we lean on our readers and fellow citizens to help us determine whom to celebrate. Honorees will have their stories featured in Portland Monthly’s November issue (check out last year's winners here) and will be feted at our annual Light a Fire awards ceremony on Friday, November 2nd, at the Portland Art Museum.
