The coronavirus has impacted just about every single facet of daily life—how we work, how we eat, how we walk our dogs in the park. Here we are at the tail end of July, and Oregon continues to see triple-digit coronavirus cases daily. As August and September roll around, many are wondering what school will look like during the fall semester. As you can imagine, the answer is complex.

Portland Monthly news editor Julia Silverman has been covering the state's ongoing efforts to reopen schools safely. We spoke last week about the dimming hopes for an in-person fall semester and a new pod system for parents and students.
