Now that fall has hit, the fashion event calendar in Portland is going into maximum overdrive. New collections are coming into stores, Portland Fashion Week is almost here, summer clearance sales are going on, and you feel the first hints of my beloved “sweater weather.” Physical Element in the Pearl is hopping on the event train and hosting an intimate evening of fashion, cocktails, and friends. I’d attend for just two out of three. Their invitation declares it a time to enjoy casual interactive discussions of this season’s looks while viewing live mannequins. That means you can leave your prepared note cards at home. For those of you not familiar with Physical Element, the women’s wear boutique offers the fashion-forward Portlander offbeat, distinctive labels from Europe, Japan, and the United States that are characteristically modern. The soiree is a two-night affair, getting its groove on from 6-9 both Thursday and Friday.
