Dark Wave from Yo Vintage

Cancel your plans for Saturday night, you have new ones. The second edition of Subject to Season, a curated open studio with the cream of Portland’s crop, will be taking place at the Ford Building. The invitation says attendees can experience music, libations, fashion, artwork, inspired styling and general synaptic stimuli. Ooooh! These are a few of my favorite things. With a hugely talented gang ranging from inspired accessories by Hazel Cox to sultry hand blended smells from Olo Fragrance to amazing pieces hand picked pieces from Yo Vintage and Palace Clothing they will come through on that promise. Palace quickly rose to the top of my chart this week when I wandered in, had a chat with the sweet owner and instantly found a hot pink vintage Ann Taylor shirt for $16. They also carried new lines like fashion forward Hero Crane, Shape Shifter and Rabbit on the Run, which will be available tomorrow night. Yo Vintage’s operator Sarah Radcliffe told me she interpreting the event’s “Dark Wave” theme by bringing clothing with sparkle, leather, prints, knits and a pop of color. The event is cash only which I feel is a very good thing for me. I can bring a specified amount, leave the ATM card at home and not worry about the dangerous alternative possibility.
