The Art of Garment First Friday Showcase

Officially laying stake on the “First Fashion Event of March” claim, the crew at the UNION/PINE space presents the Art of Garment fashion installation this Friday. And it's stocked to the brim with our ever growing talent pool.
A showcase featuring the work of a choice selection of Portland-based clothing designers, Art of Garment features Aniela Parys, who specializes in lingerie and vintage; Michelle Franklin, currently starring in this season of Project Runway and the force behind AU Clothing; Emily Katz, artist of countless mediums; Heather Treadway, renowned clothing crafter and musician; fashion ringleader and wrangler, Cassie Ridgeway of Mag-Big; Rio Wrenn, creator of the beautifully hand-dyed fabrics at R.A.W. Textiles; Jennifer Brown, intimate apparel designer at Under the Root; and Sonia Kasparian, reconstructed couturier at Urchin Re.Design.
See the inner workings of the design process from beginning to end with a lovely assortment of sketches and renderings, pattern pieces, and finished works featured in the evening's showcase along with drinks, food, and pretty people.
