811 E Burnside shop Summerland moved locations in the building and are ready for business once again. Vintage dealer Clever Nettle will be onsite with racks of vintage in addition to pretty new Fall arrivals. Shoppers can expect 15% off everything (including sale items) champagne and fancy snacks to boot.

New York-based jewelry designer Erica Weiner brings her specialty vintage and antique-inspired costume and fine jewelry (think jaguar bracelets almost medieval cuffs) from her two retail locations in New York to Interstate's Beam & Anchor for a weeklong trunk show.

Betty Jean Couture Fashion the Cure Show
Saturday, October 5, 6pm

Plus sized boutique owner Kenneth Doswell lost his mother Betty Jean to breast cancer and makes it a mission of his business to fight the disease. His women-of-all-sizes fashion show coming up includes celebrity emcee Daniel Baldwin and local model Grace Holland as well as special guest Eddie Bauer Jr. Tickets are available here.

Design Week Portland

Design Week manifests itself in all manners of parties, events, and panel discussions, but there are a couple of events key to fashion insiders.

Fashion Speaks: Join panelists Make it Good Clothing, Pino, Mag-Big, and Spooltown on October 10 for an open-ended dialogue about what makes Portland different, why we are attracting young and innovative design talent, makers, doers and brands and how we can emerge as a world leader in fashion and apparel design by differentiating ourselves from known global fashion capitols.

Domestic Launch-An American Made Design Showcase: Meet interior designers and shopkeepers for Beam & Anchor, Bright Designlab, Fieldwork, Fig Studio, Jennifer Fowler Interiors, JHL Design, and Made & State while they show off the three urban apartments and a one rooftop patio they've transformed into environments that best reflect their sense of style, utilizing the finest in modern, American-made goods.

Designing Bags & Accessories for Production: Have you ever wondered what the process of getting a sewn product manufactured looks like? Do you have a line that you're looking go get manufactured, or have a dream of producing a line or product? Professional manufacturers Spooltown will talk you through the whole process, including budget, timeline, design considerations, industry norms, appropriate pricing, reasonable expectations, etc.
