Backtalk’s Grand Opening Party

Mississippi shop Backtalk branches out with another location in the West End. Owner Katie Freedle promises new designers and curated vintage pieces in the same vein as her east side location. In the new space Laura Kemp will hold court as resident designer creating her mix of 70s loungewear and Japanese minimalism in house. Celebrate local entrepreneurism done right at the opening bash Thursday night from 5–8 pm.

Folly Turns Seven

Slabtown spot Folly can scratch their seven year itch this week at the shop’s big anniversary celebration. Because one day isn’t enough for this milestone, owner Sarah Bibb turns the shenanigans into a four-day event with multiple ways to thank their customers including 25% off in house line from Bibb, cocktails from New Deal, and some hefty raffle prizes from the likes of Urban Waxx, Tilde, and Mink.

First Friday at 811

The 811 Building bursts with festivities on Friday. Boutique Haunt will host a trio of artists in a group show themed on color and summer with painter Michelle Erickson's focusing on a wanderlust trip through the French Riviera and Jeannie Helzer's bamboo and wool wall hangings are like cloud like afternoon daydreams woven out of bamboo and wool. The 6/7 shop owners Liza Rietz and Emily Bixler celebrate their dual June birthday with in shop festivities, while old-line-new-location XOBruno offers 20% off everything.

Privates One Day Sale

Want to own something you know is in style? Shop directly from the closet of a stylish person. Pendleton designer Gretchen Jones got together a bunch of stylish Portlanders for a second-hand sale of epic proportions. On June 6, “Privates” goes down as a one stop shopping/party event with curated wardrobe pieces from Designer/Makers/Movers/Shakers include: Gretchen Jones (designer for Pendleton), Jen Goff (owner of Takara jewelry), Sarah Radcliffe (owner of Yo Vintage), Anna Branch (former creative director of Solestruck), Emily Katz (macramé wizard), and Lindsay Reif (owner of Reif Haus).
