First Thursday. Last Thursday. And starting April 24, Last Sunday, too.

The brainchild of Portland native and founder of Portland Flea, Kate Sullivan, Flea + Food is a new monthly market featuring vintage, artisan goods, and delicious eats. Jacobsen Salt Co. and Rejuvenation will be co-producers of the project.

“The thing that I love about Rejuvenation and Jacobsen’s involvement is there isn’t competition,” Sullivan says. “There’s definitely an all-ships-rise type of feel to Portlanders by getting together and being very collaborative and sharing ideas and sharing resources. It’s something that’s really special to this town.”

Held on the last Sunday of each month (except December), Flea + Food is best described as a vintage and craft market with a food pod. Featuring décor and furniture, accessories and apparel, makers’ showcases and collaborations inside of Rejuvenation, a combination of vintage and new artisan goods in a tented outdoor space. But the “flea” portion is only half the market.

Matthew Domingo, a spokesman for Jacobsen Salt Co. and Bee Local, describes the market also as a foodie-based, community venture. “We’re not doing this to make money,” he says. “We’re just doing it to have fun and to give people the chance to learn about these other food companies.”

While Portland Flea's usual lineup features inedible wooden bowls and wall hangings, Flea + Food will bring together Alma Chocolate, Sweetheart Bakery, Mizuba Tea Company, Thomas & Sons Distillery, Eliot’s Adult Nut Butters, and food trucks that will rotate seasonally.

“If there’s anything Portland is about, it’s food and craft, and that’s what we’re doing,” says Alex Bellos, Rejuvenation's general manager. “We’re bringing together these two trends that are defining what Portland means today in one place—and we’re doing it in a powerful way.”

Check out Flea + Food at its debut April 24, 11 am to 4 pm. nestled between SE Grand Ave and SE 7th Ave.
