For 20 years, New Avenues for Youth has assisted at-risk and homeless youth with drop-in services, meals, counseling, access to education, and job training programs. Dfrntpigeon, an offshoot from the org, is an apparel line designed and run by six young people with the help of one business manager. The new collection, Identity, features tees with titles like Crisis and Humanity. $26

Forest Grove nonprofit Adelante Mujeres, devoted to empowerment and support of low-income Latina women, operates a summer CSA program for the world’s greatest condiment: salsa. August through October, local farmers grow peppers, onions, cilantro, and tomatillos and package them in a weekly box with recipes for fresh salsa and hot sauce. $90
