Power Lunch at Harlow
A juicer’s buzzing whir soundtracks the chic hippie paradise Harlow, where every lunch break is an excuse to savor a rainbow of fragrant, plant-based plates and wild fruit- and veggie-packed elixirs.
The menu’s so lively, it transforms “good for you” food from prescription to indulgence. Stretch pant–clad yogis and suit-and-tie businessmen crowd the cheery, all gluten-free, mostly vegan spot’s long, wooden tables. They’re noshing on seriously chunky, spice-happy African peanut stew and steaming bowls of fluffy quinoa topped with a vibrant jumble of gingery pickled purple cabbage, roasted sweet potatoes, kale, and salty seaweed. Garlic tahini and silky avocado cilantro cream are everywhere.
And then there’s Harlow’s take on pasta (pictured): a belly-filling heap of thin, raw zucchini “noodles” tossed with carrot curls, spinach leaves, and a zippy sun-dried-tomato pesto that yields a hearty crunch with every bite. This is what raw power tastes like.
