After 19 months dishing up Polish-meets-Portland nosh on SE Hawthorne, Bar Dobre will serve its last pierogi on Saturday, June 7. What's next for the space? Bar Dobre’s chef and owner Stan Pratnicki will open Stan’wiches this summer, offering casual dine-in and take-out fare during the day and early evening—and many of Bar Dobre's dishes will be offered via a new catering-only menu. The candlelit, barrel-lined Central Eastside urban wine bar Sauvage closed Saturday May 31, after just under two years of serving sophisticated small plates while shining a spotlight on the attached Fausse Piste Winery’s Rhône-inspired cuvées. Ben Bettinger will join Laurelhurst Market as executive chef after his upcoming departure from Vitaly Paley's Imperial. Laurelhurst’s current chef de cuisine, Shannon Preble, decided to step down in order to pursue other goals. It is unclear at present what changes are in store for the restaurant’s menu, but co-owner Ben Dyer assures fans of the Market that the kitchen will stay true to its beefy roots. 3155 E Burnside St
Coffee fans, take note: Case Study Coffee's Wes Russell and Christine Herman Russell are opening a third location on NE Alberta next to popular brunch spot the Tin Shed. Little Big Burger Alberta opened May 28, just a month after its opening was announced.
