The candlelit, barrel-lined Central Eastside urban wine bar Sauvage closed Saturday May 31, after just under two years of serving sophisticated small plates while shining a spotlight on the attached Fausse Piste Winery’s Rhône-inspired cuvées. Ben Bettinger will join Laurelhurst Market as executive chef after his upcoming departure from Vitaly Paley's Imperial. Laurelhurst’s current chef de cuisine, Shannon Preble, decided to step down in order to pursue other goals. It is unclear at present what changes are in store for the restaurant’s menu, but co-owner Ben Dyer assures fans of the Market that the kitchen will stay true to its beefy roots. 3155 E Burnside St

Little Big Burger Alberta opened May 28, just a month after its opening was announced.
