What: Oyster Social, a Portland-based mobile raw bar is offering a class on oyster shucking with bubble pairings from Ambonnay sommelier David Speer.

Sausage Making at Old Salt Marketplace

What: Vitaly Paley’s wildly successful Russian pop-up (Portland Monthly’s Cuisine of the Year) keeps on rolling this month with blini, piroshki and traditional, local, and infused vodka flights from Imperial Bartender Tony Gurdian. Now, Paley’s Russian dinner party transforms every night into a Russian dance party, with Slavic hip-hop, a vodka luge, and more zakuski drinking food.

January at Nodoguro: Izakaya
What: Nodoguro’s Ryan Roadhouse (Portland Monthly’s Rising Star Chef 2014) will be transforming the weekend-only restaurant into an Izakaya (Japanese taven/sake bar) for the month of January. Expect riffs on classic tavern dishes like natto dumplings with mountain potato alongisde preserved salmon with tea and popped soba.
