Nikkei Bake Sale
Put your sweet tooth toward a good cause this Friday, March 26. At the XLB at 4090 N Williams Ave, from noon to 3 p.m., dozens of Portland bakers are coming together for a massive fundraiser called the Nikkei Bake Sale, with all proceeds donated to APANO and the Asian Mental Health Collective. Contributors include Carlo Lamagna, La Reinita, Nightingale, Ippai PDX, Berlu, Lazy Susan, and many more. See the Instagram post below for a full list of contributors.

If you picked up our summer issue or have been keeping tabs on our website, you might have seen our guide to Seven Days of Cake, which features a different cake slice or personal-sized cake for each day of the week. Well, Luna Contreras of Nightingale and Vince Nguyen were so stoked to both be included that they decided to collaborate on a special cake, which will be available at Berlu this Saturday and Sunday. The cake is a mashup of Nguyen's coconut-pandan layer cake and Contreras's tres leches cake: sponge cake with rum-coconut pastry cream, with slivered almonds and pomegranate seeds nestled between the layers. Like the rest of Nguyen's baked goods, it'll also be gluten and dairy-free. All proceeds from this special cake collab will be donated to APANO.
The Return of the Le Pigeon Burger

The famed burger at Le Pigeon is returning this Friday, March 26, and next Friday, April 2—the first time in over a year the burger has made a public appearance. The famed burger consists of a square patty, extra-sharp white cheddar, grilled and pickled onions, shredded iceberg lettuce, house-made aioli, and Dijon mustard, all on a ciabatta roll. The restaurant will take over part of SE Eighth Avenue on those dates with picnic tables and coolers of beer, turning the burger pop-up into a full-blown event. For $25, guests will get a burger, butter lettuce salad, and a foie gras profiterole-inspired cookie. Burgers will be first-come, first-served, available for outdoor dining and to-go from noon to 6 p.m. (or while they last) on both dates.
