Pinkham Hats Get Published

Local millinery shines in this glossy new coffee table book featuring the world's top hat makers.

Thanks to illustrious hat maker, Dayna Pinkham, Portland just found itself included in a new book on level with some of the greats. In Louis Bou’s new book Couture Hats: From the Outrageous to the Refined, the author highlights “the most innovative work” of 21 “master milliners around the world.” Our own local milliner Dayna Pinkham is one of only four Americans (and the only West Coast artist) to be featured in the glossy new coffee table book. She shares pages alongside hallowed fashion icons such as Philip Treacy and Stephen Jones, who wrote the book’s foreword.

This month Harper Design will release the American edition of the 224-page gorgeous book originally published by the Spanish design press Monza. To celebrate Dayna Pinkham invites you to a book release party and fashion show at her new store location. In concert with Portland Fashion Week (aka FashionXT), the October 13th event will feature local appetizers, champagne, a live band, and an intimate show of Pinkham’s couture hats from the last 30 years, including those pictured in the book.
