SE 2nd & Oak: The Central Eastside Industrial District's new food cart pod The Row is now open next to the historic Produce Row building. The pod is now home to Big-Ass Sandwiches, KOi Fusion, Whiffies, and Pyro Pizza. Popular North Mississippi cart Burgatroyd will call The Row home by the end of November.

SE 28th: After moving from its longtime perch at the now-closed D Street Noshery, roving St. Helens-based brewers Captured By Porches are re-opening at two new spots on the East Side. First, a new beer cart will open this weekend in the Southeast 28th and Ankeny mini-pod currently home to Grilled Cheese Grill and the newly-relocated Wolf & Bear's and Fuego de Lotus (also a refugee from the shuttered Noshery). The brewers' second cart is now open in the new Rose City Food Park at NE Sandy and 52nd. 

Northeast

NE Fremont: Tricia Leahy, owner of Multnomah Village's long-time candy store Sweets Etc., is debuting her latest venture Hattie's Sweet Shop with a grand opening slated for Thursday, November 8th. NE Glisan: Slow Bar owner Rob Hemmerling's new burger eatery Slowburger has debuted at Northeast's micro-restaurant row The Ocean, offering five kinds of burgers (both meat-lover and veg friendly), onion rings, fries, beer, and a simple salad. Southwest

SW Alder: After a series of permit delays (thanks to city rezoning of the former parking building that will house his new Tasty n Alder), construction begins this week on the second outpost of John Gorham's tasty empire. SW Park: Winter has arrived at the Portland Farmers Market. All non-PSU neighborhood markets have closed for the season and the PSU market will be open for its winter hours (from 9 am to 2 pm) until the season ends on December 15th. PFM's Winter Market will open for its second year on Saturday, January 5th, 2013 at Downtown's Shemanski Park. The Winter Market will operate every Saturday from 10 am to 2 pm, through February 23. Conetown: Sunset Magazine has its eye on ice cream this holiday season. The November issue features a roundup of the fall and winter flavors from Ruby Jewel Scoops (chocolate peppermint bark), What's the Scoop?
