Last week we got wind of the Hollywood Theatre’s plans to open an outpost inside Concourse C later this spring. Now, Eat Beat has learned, PDX will add an impressive lineup of places to eat and drink to its already standout options—Burgerville to Country Cat—this summer, including (according to PDX) the world’s first airport tasting room, courtesy of House Spirits Distillery.
House Spirits plans to offer its entire line of spirits for pre- or post- travel tasting. The largest distillery in the Northwest—which opened a Southeast location this past November—will have a brick-and-mortar space adjacent to gate C2. The bar will be stocked with handcrafted gin, vodka, whiskey, aquavit, and liqueurs, as well as branded glassware and apparel.
But it’s not just booze. Downtown deli Kenny & Zuke’s is also touching down in PDX, offering fresh, handmade bagels for breakfast and a lineup of hearty soups and sandwiches like the classic pastrami for lunch and dinner.
Early morning commuters can soon skip the Starbucks line and nitpick between Portland standby Stumptown Coffee Roasters, Peet’s Coffee & Tea, and local wholesale coffee company Portland Roasting Company.
Previously operating as a pop-up farmers market inside the airport, Capers Farm-to-Table Market will become a permanent fixture, offering artisan food products and fresh, local produce options—a healthy alternative to standard airport fare.
We predict some missed flights in the future…
