Regular pop-ups at Tournant
As of November, the pop-up hosts and culinary party animals are settling into a regular schedule at their space on NE Glisan (formerly Din Din). Oyster Social + Seafood Tapas (every first Friday of the month), ranges from ceviches and crudos and tonnato-stuffed piquillo peppers. Tazon! (every third Thursday of the month) pays homage to pozole, the beloved Mexican soup, available in three varieties: pork rojo, chicken verde, and vegetarian—infused with pumpkin seed chile paste. Also, major bonus: They’ll be hosting a chocolate babka-making class for the holidays.

Ataula serves a one-off brunch
One of our 2014 Best Restaurants brings back brunch for one day only (Ataula halted Sunday brunch service two years ago), in tandem with Sherry Week. Expect eggs, paella, serious sherry pairings, and one hell of a Spanish coffee.

Dinner and a movie at Mission Theater
If you’re as obsessed with Big Night—that charming cult classic with an amazing cast—as we are, you’ll appreciate that Zeus Café chef Warren Pinkston has designed an elaborate six-course Italian meal to honor the film. That includes the legendary double-pasta meatball dish, timpano, served against the backdrop of Stanley Tucci and Ian Holm.

Back for its third year, the 30-shop tour ranges from Alma Chocolate to Water Avenue Coffee, and includes a cold brew competition co-hosted by Barista Magazine.

You may be tempted to stay in and scour the Internet for holiday goodies, but we beg you: Do it right with local tchotchkes at Portland’s bustling Night Market. Setting aside the mountains of hand-crafted goodness (edible and otherwise), there will be stellar food options from mobile favorites (Boke Bowl, Pastrami Zombie, Koi Fusion, and more), and drink (craft cocktails from the Bible Club and Bloody Mary and mimosa pop-ups). Also on the roster: hot sauce-laden Pinot, fortune tellers, a pop-up circus, and rebel crafties tagging unsuspecting mannequins.
