Raised in a progressive hippy commune, Lovely Laban spent her childhood watching her mother care for others as the resident nurse, eventually becoming one herself. In 2009, drawing on her expertise in the study of aging and a strong drive to help people, Laban founded Skin by Lovely, a clinic dedicated to natural-looking, non-surgical, medical facial aesthetics.
“I think a lot of people feel that taking care of themselves and their appearance is often unnecessary or even vain,” Laban says. “Many women especially feel guilt when they invest in themselves. What they need to realize is that when a woman feels beautiful and confident, she becomes powerful.”
After moving the original location from Beverly Hills to Santa Monica, Laban returned home to the Pacific Northwest, opening Portland and Lake Oswego locations.
