River View Cemetery - Established 1882
Founded by prominent families with names we all recognize—including Ladd, Benson, Terwilliger, Pittock—as Portland’s primary burial ground, River View Cemetery is the city’s oldest non-profit endowment care cemetery.

Today, River View Cemetery leads the way in environmentally-conscious funeral options with Natural Burial and Aqua Cremation. “The Meadow,” will soon be a dedicated natural burial area with native plants and eco-friendly memorial markers, continuing River View’s legacy of innovation and sustainability.
