The Face of Wine Production

Maryhill Winery

Presented by Maryhill Winery February 10, 2020

All any plant needs to grow is hospitable earth, water and sunlight, and grapevines are no different. That’s exactly what Craig and Vicki Leuthold saw when they established Maryhill Winery, on a unique slice of Washington terroir just up and across the river from The Dalles. In the two decades plus since, Maryhill has certainly flourished, expanding with tasting rooms in Goldendale, Spokane, Vancouver and its most recent space, a 10,000-square-foot facility in Woodinville’s historic Hollywood Schoolhouse.

“We founded Maryhill in 1999 when there were only 125 wineries in Washington now there are over 1000,” says owner Craig Leuthold. “In the most recent Wine Press Northwest Platinum Judging, Maryhill wines received a record 15 Platinum awards, eclipsing our own previous record of 13 set two years ago.”

While most of the destination winery’s locations are a road trip away for Portlanders, its Vancouver waterfront tasting room is the ideal place to explore the more than 35 different varietals and 65 distinct bottlings that Maryhill offers. As you sip, take in the sweeping views and elegant furnishings, including a 130-year-old antique Brunswick bar. The full kitchen’s Pacific Northwest-inspired cuisine can satisfy your appetite too.

Maryhill makes enjoying acclaimed wine memorable and accessible. “Our standard flight is seven wines for a tasting fee of $15.00, which is refundable with a $25.00 purchase,” explains Leuthold. “We have a club room as well, where Premium Wine Club members can sample exclusive wines and older vintages.”
