Three deliciously sweet and healthy sandwich ideas featuring Oroweat Organic 22 Grains and Seeds Bread and Fluffy Homemade Date “Butter”
Soft and flavorful Oroweat 22 Grains and Seeds Bread pairs with Medjool dates which really are nature’s caramel candy! High in fiber, potassium and anti-oxidants, they have a low glycemic index making them a healthy choice to use in this sweet and creamy vegan “butter”. Use a non-stick spray on the knife before chopping to stop them from sticking to the blade.
2 cups packed seeded and chopped Medjool Dates
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 Tablespoons Coconut Oil
2 teaspoons real vanilla extract
½ cup cashew cream
¼ teaspoon kosher salt
Place chopped dates in a medium saucepan and add water just to cover. Bring to a boil, then turn down to a simmer and allow to cook uncovered for 10-15 minutes to soften. Add baking soda to dates and stir to blend. Place dates and all other ingredients into a high-speed blender or food processor and blend on high until very smooth. Store date butter in a jar or other air-tight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
Spread equal parts Fluffy Date Butter and your favorite healthy peanut butter between two slices of Oroweat Organic 22 Grains and Seeds bread. Ideal for the kids and the kid in you!
